Irene MOORE

CEO/Founder

Irene is the founder of The Lorna Legacy, which she established in memory of her late mother who inspired her to dream of adventure by encouraging her to dive into storybooks.

After she passed away Irene sought refuge in those same storybooks, which helped her to dream and aspire, as well as come to terms with her loss.

Irene is a Party Wall Surveyor, with over 16 years’ experience acting for both homeowners and developers in construction and the built industry.  Irene sits on the board of directors for the Bethnal Green Business Development Centre Charity – a not-for-profit which offers affordable to small, medium and large enterprises.

Irene is married to Kevin, who is also the secretary for the charity. Together they have two fast-growing and energetic boys.

'After my mother passed away, I spent years wondering how I could leave a fitting legacy for her. This charity is my way of thanking her for the gift she gave me – the gift of reading - and I’d love to give the same gift to the orphans of Uganda.'

Luisa BALDINI

Luisa is a presentation and communication expert, previously having worked for BBC News as a Deputy Royal Correspondent.

Luisa left the BBC in 2014 for a family move to New York. It was there she co-launched a training business, Composure Media. Prior to the BBC, Luisa worked at ITN for both ITV and Channel 5 News and previously lived in Lyon, France working for EuroNews.

'I’ve coached many people professionally on how to use storytelling in effective communication, and hearing Irene’s heartfelt story in person was instantly compelling. I loved her straightforward vision, and I was excited to lend my experience to the charity’s growth.'

Kevin MOORE

Kevin is the charity’s secretary and Irene’s husband. Kevin’s previous experience with non-profit organisations comes from working for The BigKid Foundation- a community charity for young people at risk of social exclusion and youth violence, where he helped devise and present workshops to young people.

'Irene’s story inspired me to help build her vision of a charity in her mother’s name and I love that we can work together as husband and wife to bring that vision to life. I never got to meet my Mother-in-Law, but I know she would be proud of her daughter's work.'
